What is Crucible?

• An action-packed, semester-long opportunity to experience God, discern His will, explore cross-cultural missions, and engage in ministry you design. Unique, transforming and bold ministry to join God where He is at work!

• An opportunity to grow spiritually in a cross-cultural ministry context with guidance and mentoring provided by experienced cross-cultural workers.

• An occasion to experience Polish language and culture in community with 5 to 10 other participants! Group discussions and learning experiences in the areas of gifts/abilities, spiritual formation, transforming ministry, bold prayer, observing culture and practical applications of theology.

What will I do?

• Crucible begins with cyberspace. Pursue your dream ministry first by the guided (by GEM-Poland staff) internet-based exploration of Poland and Poznań. Consider what ministry activities interest you and the ministry you would design to address those needs.

• Connect what you have learned with real space when you arrive in Poznań.

• Identify with Polish students by enrolling in university courses and living in their world.

• Engage in ministry on the ground that will challenge you beyond belief, that will help you clarify His call for your life, that will reach into dark places with His Light.

Location

Crucible finds its home in Poznań, Poland. Greater Poznań has a population of over 1 million and a combined university student population of over 130,000. As a city it provides ample opportunity for ministry with an innovative flavor.

Crucible is designed for 20-somethings who are curious to explore God’s will for them overseas. For singles and young married couples with a passion for God and His work. For couples we recommend at least one year of marriage before experiencing Crucible! You must have a passion for God, His work and to share Him with others.

Schedule

The daily schedule will be set upon your arrival. Late nights? Early mornings? It’s all a part of Crucible! Anticipate the challenge!

Cost

Monthly support for the Crucible experience will be $1,300 per person. One-time outgoing expenses will be approximately $4,000. This includes university tuition and first month's salary, round-trip air fare, orientation, visas, and settling expenses. The actual costs may change due to university requirements and currency fluctuation.
